RRHH Digital Stock markets exist in most of the major countries in the world. The most famous are the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), based in Wall Street Manhattan, and the London Stock Exchange, based in the City of London. Other famous stock markets exist in Hong Kong and Japan among others. The principal reason for these exchanges is so that companies increase their profile and raise capital by letting investors buy a share or part of their company, these are called “shares” or sometimes “stock options” or “securities”.
The investors can be individual people but are more likely to be banks, financial institutions, hedge funds or pension funds. These investors hope to see the company improve its profits and so its shares will increase in value, they can then be sold for profit.
