Part VI: TEXT COMPLETION (12 questions)
This part features three texts which each contain four blanks. Four possible answers are given; the candidate must choose the best answer in order to complete the text
1. Skim the whole text to familiarize with its content and structure.
2. Read carefully the directions that are given for EACH text, this will tell you what types of documents are presented –articles, announcements, e-mails, memos, etc.- This will help you select the most appropriate answers.
3. Analyze the context or situation of the text and identify the tone of the writing (formal-informal).
4. Read all of the questions carefully and ask yourself:
-If you need to refer to the information or arguments presented in the text, in order to be able to answer the questions.
Or…
-If you need to analyze the grammatical structure of the text in order to determine the appropriate tense time, form of agreement, etc.
