RRHH Digital In today’s post you will find some tips and tricks to perform well in the “TOEIC – Conversations” part:
Part III: CONVERSATIONS (30 questions)
In this part the candidate will hear some conversations between two people and will be asked to answer three questions about what the speakers say in each conversation. Each question has four multiple-choice answers, only one of which is correct.
1. Read the questions before you hear the recording. This will help you to focus on what is said and you might be able to guess the meaning of words you don’t understand clearly.
2. Before listening you should skim the questions and answer choices focusing on key words.
3. While listening to the conversation try to identify:
• Who are the speakers?
• What are their professions?
• What is their relationship?
• Where is the conversation taking place?
• What are they talking about?
Having these questions in mind will increase your probability of answering correctly.
4. Listen for key words that will help you to identify the context and paraphrase the information that you hear in the conversation. This will help you predict the correct answer choice while eliminating distractors.
5. Answer choices do not necessarily use the same words from the conversation and many times distractors repeat some of the words but DON’T answer the questions.
6. You should mark the correct answer as quickly as you hear it, and move on skimming the following questions.
