Our client is a leading international tourism group with headquarters in UK and operates in over 180 countries. This company is a leisure travel provider with a real committed to responsible leadership in the travel sector.
ROLE
Due to the significant growth projections on an international scale there is a requirement to appoint a Head of HR for our leading service provider in its field of expertise, based with the senior management team in its Barcelona headquarter.
This is a critical and high profile position that will play a vital role at the forefront of the HR development of this growth-oriented business. It provides an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to have international exposure in a challenging, analytical and creative role within a highly exciting and intensive fast paced operational environment.
The position of Head of HR is a key member of the Specialist HR team and will play a strong part in the overall development of the HR agenda, at the same time acting as a business partner for the business. The role will report both to the MD of the Company and to the Head of HR of the division, and will have the mission to manage HR processes and tools vital to the achievement of strategic business objectives. The position will be part of the senior management team and the role requires regular business travels on a global scale.
The responsibilities will include:
HR Business Partner:
-Generalist HR support to the MD and Board members:
o Advice on planning, implementation, and communication of organisational changes
o Support regarding the senior management population (recruitment, contractual and legal issues, reward, career development), in co-ordination with the divisional Head of HR
o Support for opening of new markets and growth in the existing locations, setting up management structures, supporting the organisational design and development of strong local teams
o Handle compensation programmes and annual review processes
o Ensure introduction and application of performance management systems and development tools; training of local
HR Managers and management teams on HR tools and initiatives
o Improve local recruitment processes and foster international mobility
o Supervise Internal Communications in co-ordination with Marketing & Communication
o Monitor and foster employee engagement
o Regular reporting on HR-related issues of the regions.
HR Strategy and Projects:
– Work on the further development and implementation of the strategic HR agenda for the business
– Establish best practices and guidelines for global HR work, taking care of the specific needs of the world-wide regions and striving to achieve the right degree of international harmonisation and synergies (including casual workers, compensation and contractual set-up).
– Create and implement new HR initiatives, policies and systems in the respective countries together with the local HR teams in order to increase efficiency and synergies.
Talent Management & Development
-Apply Organisational Management Review and Succession Planning tools to identify talent, and create and apply relevant measures to develop the senior and emerging talent of the business.
-Work on the development of respective career paths
-Further develop and foster initiatives to increase international mobility and work-life balance
-Develop customized leadership development programmes and liaise with the operational training team to ensure global training initiatives are linked to the HR strategy and agenda
Reward:
-Work on international implementation of enhanced reward programmes and modelling of reward strategy
-Support development and implementation of internal grade structure and salary bands Identify reliable market data for international locations to enable external market analysis
-Co-ordinate international assignments and transfers.
International Expansion:
-Actively support the acquisition and integration process of companies joining the business through mergers or acquisitions (due diligence, harmonisation of reward schemes and HR policies, contracts, communication, post-merger integration) as well as provide tools and processes for organic growth.
Requirements:
-Graduate Calibre (preferred Business or Law degree)
-English at native level, further languages like Spanish are a plus
-Approximately 8-10 years HR experience, in generalist roles in fast-growing multinational companies with a strong customer service, ideally with experience in start-up environment. Exposure to HR practices and the legal / market environment in several countries, ideally across Europe, Americas and Asia Pacific.
-To be successful in this position, candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills. They should be quick thinking, results-orientated, and pro-active, with drive and energy to act in a fast-paced environment.
-Candidates should possess a natural authority and judgment, be effective communicators with strong influencing skills and the ability to establish trust and respect at all levels of an international organisation, acting with intercultural empathy, honesty and transparency.
