ROLE
To continue supporting the business in achieving its ongoing growth on a global scale, there is a requirement to appoint an International HR Advisor within the A&D Specialist HR team in the Palma Head Office. The role provides an excellent opportunity for an HR professional to work in a challenging role within a truly international environment, and at an attractive location. In a fast-growing, international business, it provides exposure to key strategic initiatives and stakeholders, and therefore offers opportunities for professional development.
The position is a key member of the global HR team and supports the Specialist division in reaching its ambitious international growth objectives, which involve frequent acquisitions of new businesses, integration of existing businesses, as well as expansion into new business models and geographies. As a result, there is an existing and growing need of international mobility across 5 continents (current focus on moves between Europe, Asia, and the Americas), with a current expatriate community of 60+, and increasing recruitment of international candidates.
This is a functional expert role with a strong analytical and project management focus; at the same time, it requires a deep understanding of and interaction with the business and has a generalist HR element.
The role will report to the Head of HR A&D Specialist Division. It also involves interaction with diverse stakeholders such as external advisors (lawyers, tax consultants, etc.), business managers, expatriates, and other internal functions at Sector and Group level.
The responsibilities will include:
• Supports the divisional Head of HR in providing generalist and project HR functions to the management teams and employees advising them on HR best practise and implementing a HR strategy in line with local needs and Sector/Group HR strategy.
• Supports the divisional Head of HR in creating and implementing new HR initiatives, policies and systems like job banding project or HRIS
• Recruitment: Supports the recruitment activities in the division and provides when required general support to the different countries to use sector HR recruitment tools and participation in external recruitment projects (p.e. university programs).
• Performance & Talent Management: Supports the headoffice team and if required various businesses in monitoring of employees’ performance, analysis of training and development needs, coordination for the implementation of training programmes and development activities, support Teamleaders in succession planning and talent management
• Training & Development: Participation and Assistance to development initiatives for employee training, retention and to foster teamworking (Training plans/initiatives, induction, development and teambuilding activities, Career plans, international assignments etc). Conduct employee follow-up interview after recruitment and exit interviews. Also assists to work on employee surveys and follow-up of developing and actions plans for the Business Partners.
• Assistance to Compensation & Benefits Management for the division
• Manages the general reporting tools on the recruitment on a monthly and bi-annual level, coordinates reporting of development and performance of the teams as well as the updating of organisational charts
• Supports the divisional Head of HR to different strategic projects from organisational change/development to the integration and M&A activities with respect to people related issues
CANDIDATE PROFILE
• HR professional with 3-5 years of experience in an international environment with ideally 2+ years of experience in a similar role or HR consultancy and having worked with organisational development projects (mergers, acquisitions or joint ventures). Experience in the travel industry would be a plus.
• The successful candidate holds a university degree (preferred Business Administration, Organisation or Law)
• A full proficiency level in the English language is a must (written and verbal), German and Spanish is an asset
• Demonstrate excellent level of analytical, planning and organisational skills.
• Customer obsessed, results orientated and flexible, practical hands-on approach.
• Able to communicate and influence all levels, including employees and management.
• Intercultural empathy, honesty and transparency should be part of the personality.
• Should also have a working knowledge of the general business IT applications.
This position would require some business travels but not on a regular basis.
